
Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cora Mae Hassberger is a musical theater artist based in Middle Tennessee and Central California. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University, where she studied Commercial Voice and Music Business. She has been performing as a professional actor in regional theaters since 2019. Favorite theater credits include Oklahoma (Ado Annie), Steel Magnolias (Annelle), Fiddler on the Roof (Chava), Million Dollar Quartet (Dyanne), Next to Normal (Natalie), Mamma Mia! (Sophie), and Johnny and the Devil’s Box (Original Cast; Ensemble, Adelle u/s, pit guitar).
Cora’s training includes an extensive dance background and private vocal training. She began dancing at the age of five and never stopped, adding ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and pointe to her repertoire. She was also a successful competitive dancer, earning multiple first place awards for solo performances. She has worked as a dance captain, assistant choreographer, and recently choreographed and starred in a music video for Nashville independent artist Marta Palombo. Recent choreographers include Anna Perry, Leila Jones, Jamison Lingle, and Allison Little. She has studied classical, commercial, and musical theater vocal styles at Belmont University with private and group instructors such as Dr. Savanna Sokolnicki, Henry Smiley, and Bethany Merritt. As a part of her music degree, she performed in the ensemble Company as a featured singer and dancer in multiple shows, including Christmas at Belmont 2019, which was broadcast nationwide on PBS. Cora credits her love of performing to her many years in the Saline Varsity Blues show choir, where she could express herself and find a community of lifelong friends.

~I love Taylor Swift!! I’ve been a Swiftie since the beginning and she is a big reason I went to school in Nashville and taught myself to play guitar.
~My favorite musical is Hadestown and Eurydice is a dream role. I love shows with a lot of heart and meaning to delve into, and my favorite roles to play are ones with strength and sass and vulnerability.
~I love to read, do puzzles, walk to coffee shops just to drink hot chocolate, and dressing up for the fun of it.
